Absence makes the heart grow fonder, I missed you Treadmill!

Ok , it’s only been 2 days since I was last at the gym but I have not really been participating like I should have. The last few days I have been lazy, eating crap and just not pushing myself, and the scale shows it, 6lbs up! WTF!! So today I decided to motivate myself and make a plan! I made sure my gym bag was in my car and had a set time to arrive at Gym. All the plans lined up like the Heaven’s and I made it on schedule. I did my 30 min run but felt compelled to keep going so I fired that bad boy back up for another 11 min, so in total today I ran 3.22 miles in 41 minutes that included a 10 min warm up cool down.. not too bad for newbie runner. However, I was a tad freaked out because I just had a spray tan the day before and was fearful bronzer was running down my face as I ran, that would have been a Snooki moment for sure! Tan is in place and now I feel great and ready to dance my pants off at my work Christmas party Saturday evening, that will be some good cardio!

I always like to see what other post op menu’s look like and see if I am stacking up! Protein wise I’m not on target since abandoning the meat wagon 5 weeks ago! I need to work on that, seriously! Today my menu was kind of like a 5 year old’s! I had a grilled cheese for breakfast(which I have been obsessed with for a week?) lunch was noodles in a vegetable broth and dinner was cheese tortellini with a marinara sauce… Can you say CARB OVERLOAD! Where’s the veggies Inkdgirl? Bad Bad me, I know and funny thing is I was craving stir fried veggies all day, but after coming home from Gym , I did not want to go back out to get em! Tomorrow marks a new day, one that will be less carb heavy(cuz I’m not training for a marathon) more vegg heavy and will still include pickles and cheese! Tonight I’m definately snacking as my dinner was probably only a 1/4 cup of pasta.. the plan … I will be knuckles deep in some guac and owning it!

Do I or Don’t I bake for the holiday season?

Hmm, this is a tough one. I am NOT a baker, if you ask my children they will tell you I am not much of a cook either! This will be the first year my mom is not going to be here for the holidays, going to visit my Bro, and I will be fully responsible for all the sweet delicious treats! I myself do not eat sweets due to the massive amounts of sugar they contain and my huge dumping syndrome issue. So, I think I will attempt to make some healthier options for the family that I too can indulge in. I am very good at replacing the sugar in recipes with different choices that render them still consumable! I also will be hitting up the local shops for those pre packaged delish little gems for the kidlets!

I did forget to upload a photo of the lovely Soy Nog Latte creation I posted about days ago, but I must say it was delightful! I returned to the grocery store and they also carried a Mint Chocolate Soy Drink, so guess who’s creating a peppermint mocha with that- THIS GIRL! I thank Starbucks each and everyday for making the Christmas Blend Via packs, they are a life saver and they keep me sane in the mornings!

So if my holiday dessert creations turn out Good, I will post photos, but if you see no further posts on holiday treats, consider it an EPIC FAIL!


I’m Sorry but I cannot “DO” fake meat!!

Product Review, but not in a good way! So very sorry for my honesty but this tasted horrible! I really really wanted a BLT for supper tonight so I used this product for the “B” part—-(sorry but I couldn’t spin pic)

I just can’t eat this stuff… Nor can I eat Tofu with a straight face… I’m really struggling with the protein part of this plant based lifestyle, give me a bowl of veggies or salad and I’m satisfied, but I know this is not enough. I need to incorporate more beans into my meal plan and that is okay because I love them! If anyone has any suggestions to make me like this stuff, go for it, but I think for now I will stick to the veggies,cheese and pickles! I’m still baby stepping into veganism, seeing as I am still so very much in love with cheese! I applaud all of you who can cook with it, eat it and overall enjoy it.. Kudos! I am not going back to meat though people, I will still be a veggie girl!

Can you see the difference? Yes I look like shit in this pic, I just got home from the gym and headed for the TUB! But, I need reassurance from my peeps that lifting stuff is working.

Pre Food Porn! The Before’s!

Found this at my local Independent Grocer, which is pretty much the only place in my shit ass town that I can find anything vegan,vegetarian or just plain good and the price was right- 2 for $5 SOLD!! Onto Take 2

Oh yeah, you know what this is going to be.. OLD SCHOOL GUAC… CABO STYLE… In case you forgot , I heart Cabos San Lucas as well.. and I am on the countdown to Feb when my skinny flat ass will be parked in a beach chair for 7 amazing days! I live on Guac,pineapple and watermelon for 7 straight days and nobody makes a better batch of this heavenly goodness than the folks at the Riu Sante Fe( shameless plug, feel free to comp me!) So I will be making this once the avacodos are ready, dipping them with some toasted up low carb tortillas and thinking of cruise ships, sunsets and aloe vera ! AHHH I love the sun!
I , however, did not take a photo of the microwaved vegetable egg roll that was my supper, I did not want to put you through that hell ! I am so currently obsessed with these that it is quite embarrassing, but FAT DAWN would have been plowing through a sleeve of Pringles (PLUG) at this time, not veggie egg rolls!
I need to compose a letter to FAT DAWN, thanking her for the witty humour and many stories that came about from those days!
I happened upon my LCBO, (thats the liquor store for my American peeps), last evening whilst on the way to GYM. I must say, as a non drinker, this place is the cornucopia of BOOZE HEAVEN. The fancy gift boxes,glasses and endless array of liquor had me stunned. Now don’t go thinking Inkdgirl is perfect here, she was once very, very familiar with this little habitat, she just has made better life decisions. The reason for this visit to the LCBO was to purchase Spiced Rum for the boy! Why is it that there is 20 different brands of this stuff? Wild.
On another note, Mr Selleck ( aka Mr Movember) is on the telly tonight, BlueBloods is perhaps one of my favourite shows, check it out if you haven’t yet!

Well enough rambling, my mind is trashed, if I suddenly feel witty and entertaining I shall grace your presence at said time!


I ate Fast Food! GASP!!!!!

OMG, this is a veggie girls dream. I ,of course , loaded this bad boy up with extra pickles cuz that’s how Inkdgirl rolls!The beauty part is, this is 2 meals for me.. cut this up and I have dinner now too.. All for $5.07(which I must say is a tad pricey seeing as I ordered nothing else!) So if Harvey’s corporation needs shameless plugs from a former fat girl, you found her!

I was THAT GIRL at the gym tonight!

Yup, you know the one, full makeup , no sweat, and chatting up a storm with my workout buddy! I am totally ok with it too! I had every intention of just doing a lift session, but I hopped on Treadmill for a whopping 15 min and did an amazing 1.18 miles… whew.. what a workout.. lol! I even carried on a lengthy full conversation while on Treadmill! So I did eventually end up in the weight room and put on a great gunshow! Thanks Jamie Easson for all the tips and insight on weight training sessions, you are my inspiration. The diet has not been bad lately, I’m currently obsessing on Vegetarian Egg Rolls, no idea why? I have been meat free for 3 weeks this Saturday, happy anniversary to me!

Seeing as today is Dec 1 , my Xmas tree has gone up and so comes the countdown—– 24 more days till I take the damn thing down! I love the season, but come Dec 25, I’m out! It’s over! Bah Humbug.. yah yah whatever!

Goodbye November and Movember!

Ok peeps, November is a great month ,mostly because I myself have a birthday as well as my future husband Chad Kroeger( He has not been informed of our upcoming nuptials yet!). I do have to say though , I am glad to get this month over. Bring on the Xmas parties, Decorating and Christmas cheer!

Mostly though I am ecstatic to see the end of MOVEMBER, why you ask? Never in my life have I seen this much 70’s porn star staches and it looks ridiculous on many men! There is only one man that rocks the MO

THIS GUY!!! He is the epitomy of masculine sexiness with facial hair. I must also put a plug in for Blue Bloods which is one of my favourite shows ever,besides Y&R of course.

So with that being said, ladies hand over the razors to your man and lets lose the stache!

Whew! Bring on December!

Bit of a Gongshow at the gym today!

I must say, motivation was at an all time low today. It was rainy, dreary and cold,but I knew I needed to get there because I have a mileage goal I want to attain. Once at the gym I started my run and was pacing quite well , then the power goes out, treadmill DEAD STOP.. Inkdgirl Almost face plants the monitor! Not cool! Ok , all is good, teeth check, none missing, power boots back up and we proceed with the start of run 2, 8 minutes into it, BAM! power out again… Ok gods of running why must you do this to me! I then start run attempt 3 and I actually finished.. I believe I was able to get about 3.6 miles in and felt great.I am now running at 6.0 mph which is awesome for me as a newbie runner.. I will improve , I will get better I can do this!

Eating has been very sporadic for me lately, with the change to a plant based diet I am just not so hungry till 8pm. I get my protein in everyday with at least 70 gr a day. I do one recovery shake GNC Whey Kool which is a product you know I highly recommend, no dairy shakes for this lactose intolerant chick!

Not sure if I mentioned it but I found some Soy Nog yesterday and I forsee a lovely Egg Nog Latte in my travel mug tomorrow! Big shout out to Starbucks for making the Via Christmas blend coffee… I am in love!

I’m hoping to start some new soup recipes and adding some new food porn to the blog, I am an epic fail at posting food on here, but my Facebookpages have a ton of it.

Gym Time Hotness!

It has been a week since I entered my favorite place on earth, NO not Starbucks, Gym! Today my very good friend and I went at the  usual 230pm time slot because hockey hotties are always there at that time and we were not disappointed! Unfortunately I had been on Treadmill for 28 min already by the time the hunks entered the cardio/conditioning room and I was fading fast! So I marched on into the weight room because I like to lift heavy things ( preferably shopping bags!). My dear friend was still on the treadmill and promptly text me to let me know said hotties were about to work out, well Inkdgirl needs that kind of motivation, so back on Treadmill I go for another 15 min of labour intensive running with many intervals! I need to look good while trying to run, despite the huge wet circle of sweat under my breast ,which looked like I was lactating from only one boob! Remember, I have 3 children but all are over 7, it’s just sweat boys! I do not know what gets you going to the gym, but young male hockey players work for me. So I guess the moral of this little story is…. Whatever it takes to get you to the gym , just get going!

After about an hour of rest time from today’s run/weight session I have decided that stronger meds will be on the menu tonight! I’m so sore! I thought I did well shopping last week, but taking a week off from the gym is a NO NO! A 41 yr old woman tends to stiffen up!

On a side note for all you RNY’ers out there, READ LABELS!!! I did not do this tonight and paid for it royally! I had 1/2 cup of Vegetarian Baked beans, BAD IDEA!!! It had 14 grams of sugar… y’all know I’m a dumper and very very sensitive to sugar and this came back to bite me in the ass! I am usually very diligent about label reading , tonight was clearly an exception! Point noted Pouchie!

Calling it a night, medicating, lubing up the joints and hitting the hay!
