Yes I am using my trusty Hal Higdon Novice 1 marathon plan , with some Run Less Run Faster track workouts to be mixed in this week.

How do I feel?
Honestly , like a beginner runner all over again!
Since running my 35 miler 10hr endurance race in June , I haven’t really recovered. I can run , but I am slower than before and my legs feel like tree trunks.
Will this stop me , not a chance.
I ran my 1st 3 miler while on vacay then finished off the others when I got home .
Today I ran 6 on the treadmill hoping for some speed work. I managed it in 57 min which is fast for me , but I’m burning out quickly.
I do believe that you get better with practice and the only way to do that is to just keep running. So that is what I’m going to do.
I know I can run 26.2 , I’ve done that already . But can I run it in a “decent” amount of time ?

Tomorrow is a rest day and that I will do ! I have to shuffle my workouts a bit this week as I will be in Michigan for Warrior Dash on the weekend. My long run will have to be Thursday!

Do you find that after a big race you go back to beginner mode?

    • It sure does seem to be taking a lot longer for me this time around. I will just keep plugging away and reminding myself , it’s only week 1 .
